Soulful writing about humans and places

“DESIRE is the starting point of all achievement; not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire that transcends everything” – Napoleon Hill

Why don’t I see enough people around me in whom this desire pulsates anymore? Not even the young ones. Benjamin Disraeli once said that there is no education like adversity. Is that what our young people lack? Are they too pampered, too “entitled”? Are we making it too comfortable for them and thus failing them? Or are we too stuck in our ways and leaving too little for them to explore? Are we encouraging creativity and critical thinking? What can we offer the restless achievers among us? Is Europe condemned to mediocrity?

I still have hope. After all, it was a European (and a German, no less) who said: “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.” – Goethe
